Set in the centre of Ventnor, this property is located on the Isle of Wight which can be accessed by ferry. Once the oldest Inn on the Isle of Wight, it is over 400 years old and was frequented by Charles I. A variety of shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs can be found in the local area, and the beach and seafront are a 10-minute walk away. A summer lounge features double doors leading out onto the front patio areas with table and chairs. You can fire up the barbecue for a tasty meal and enjoy the garden in fair weather. There is a seating area, a cottage-style kitchen/diner and a unique winding wooden staircase. This staircase is not suitable for those with any mobility impairments. A flat-screen TV, as well as a CD player are provided. There is a private bathroom with a bath or shower and one toilet. This is the only bathroom in the cottage situated on the ground floor. There are 3 bedrooms, one master king sized double, a twin bedroom which is a walk through bedroom to the second double bedroom which has an exterior door to the rear garden. Ferries to the mainland UK leave from Cowes, Fishbourne or Yarmouth on the north and west sides of the island.

We charge guests a pre-payment Booking Deposit of 50% of the total booking fee at the time of booking with the balance of payment due 42 (6 weeks) prior to arrival. If the bookings falls within 42 days then the full amount is requested at the time of booking. This Booking Deposit payment is non-refundable should the booking be cancelled before the 42 day period. Exceptional circumstances for cancellation do apply. We also request a damage deposit payable before arrival.

Lobster Cottage is located in the heart of Ventnor town. It is set in King Charles Court which is a quiet residential area. Opposite the cottage is Spring Hill which leads down to the town. Tescos Express is a 2 minutes walk away and a local pub - the Crab and Lobster Tap is a 1 minute walk away to the right side - walking up Grove Road. Along Spring Hill there is also the famous Crave ice cream shop and along the main high street there is an abundance of unique independent shops, bric o'brac shops, boutiques, charity shops, as well as restaurants, bars and cafes. To the west side of Ventnor you have the Royal Hotel which is wonderful for an evening drink, afternoon tea or dinner. Also the art deco Rex Bar (which was the old town cinema) has a restaurant plus an outside bar area which is the best vantage point in Ventnor to watch the sun set. Lobster Cottage is a 5 minute walk to Ventnor beach which is a sandy/shingle beach. There are deck chairs there to hire and one can go swimming in the bay. There are further bars, restaurants and cafes along this promenade with the famous Spyglass pub at the end of the prom which serves food all day. There are lovely walks all around Ventnor. A popular walk is to Steep Hill cove to the west of Ventnor. Walk along the promenade - past the Spyglass - up the hill a little through the first car park and the coastal path signposts start from there. Steephill Cove is around 30 minutes by foot. At Steephill Cove there are a few cafes and crab shacks. Once can swim there too. Going East you can walk to Bonchurch past the pond - walking through the lanes down to the beach front - then one can walk back along the sea front back to Ventnor Bay. There is an old 12th century church and an Inn at Bonchurch serving food too. The Botanical Gardens is another nice place to visit on foot or in the car. Seaside towns of Shanklin and Sandown are a 20 minute drive away with water front activities, mini golf, arcades and much more.
