Set in a beautiful rural location in the countryside above the picturesque village of Ashford-in-the-Water, the cottage is ideally situated to enjoy the best of all the Peak District National Park has to offer. Long Roods cottage is a recently converted hayloft and milking parlour dating back to around 1847. The cottage is traditionally built in stone, with a stone slate roof. It boasts 3 spacious en-suite bedrooms, a large kitchen, living and dining area with exposed beams, and views across to Chatsworth. Outside, the large private garden has a large seating area, and an old stone pig sty has been converted into a sheltered seating area, with sofas, a barbeque and fire pit. A 5 minute walk from the cottage are reach the dramatic views of Monsal Head, where you can join the route of the Monsal Trail. Thornbridge Hall is a 15 minute walk away, and Bakewell is 5 minutes away by car. Chatsworth House, is a 10 minute drive, as is the gothic beauty of Haddon Hall. Some of the most beautiful local highlights are at Monsal Dale, Curbar Edge, Stanton Moor, Kinder Scout, Stanage Edge, the Derwent Valley, the Tissington Trail, the NT Longshore Estate and Lathkill Dale.
