Merlstead House is just a minutes walk from the Sea. We currently have 2 guest rooms. The Seaview room is a very large with a Superking Bed. There is also a full size sofa, table and chairs, ensuite bathroom with a double shower. Added bonus of a separate dressing room. We also provide a silent fridge so you can have fresh milk and cold water. Other facilities include Nespresso Coffee machine, kettle with tea and coffee, 49 inch flat screen smart tv, hairdryer. Our King Room (Orla room) is also a large size with a full size ensuite bathroom with a bath and a large shower. There is also a fridge and coffee machine and a 32 inch smart tv. All rooms have wifi. We provide complimentary breakfast cereals, fruit juice but we do not provide a cooked breakfast, we do leave a home made Lemon Drizzle cake in the room for your stay. At present we operate a 2 night minimum stay.
We moved to Hornsea in 2017 after we stumbled across the town and fell in love with it's charm. The house is a large Edwardian house that for many years operated as a Hotel so we thought we would open our doors to guests. We have been overwhelmed with the wonderful reviews and all the lovely people we have met. This is our family home and we have tried to give a home from home feel to our rooms.
Merlstead House is a stone's throw from the Beach, The Marine Pub is a minute or 2 from the house, there you will be able to eat and drink while looking out at the Sea. The Floral Hall is also just around the corner with a cafe overlooking the Sea, Lily's cafe and numerous other cafe's and bar's are within easy walking distance. Hornsea is a hidden Gem, a small town on the East Coast, most people that visit love it so much they come back time and time again. It's small and friendly and calm without lots of crowds. We have the beach which has plenty of sand as well as pebbles. The Hornsea Mere, Beverley, Hull and Bridlington are close by but most guests just enjoy the relaxing around Hornsea.
