Bridget and Richard live on site and are available to answer any questions and to help make your stay as relaxing and trouble free as possible (we are also very respectful of every guests privacy) Bridget is an artist and garden designer and Richard is a skilled crafts man who loves to work in wood and other materials. Together they renovated the lodges and landscaped the gardens at Moor and Sea over the course of a year. They now also run residential art courses here in the quieter months alongside the holiday accommodation business. "We believe in providing accommodation that we would love to stay in and have designed the spaces, including the gardens and paths through the wildflower meadows, to create a restorative and relaxing place to stay and still with plenty of room to walk, picnic, relax and play. We are as eco friendly as possible in all of our practices and believe in encouraging wildlife in the surrounding gardens and fields." We love living in this beautiful part of the world and exploring the many varied walks, swimming off the many lovely beaches and kayaking along the coast.

Whitebeam, number 8 on the site map, is a detached, south-facing retreat with lovely views over Exmoor. One of 8 stone cottages at Moor and Sea Holidays with it's own wood fired hot tub in a private garden. Inside, the light and airy open-plan design features a living area with picture windows framing stunning views. Furnished in natural materials with a sofa bed, sofa and an armchair, the space is complemented by maps, guidebooks, and games. The TV is set up with Amazon and Netflix and there is super fast Wifi throughout. The dining area seats up to eight, with French doors opening onto a lovely dining terrace.  A cosy snug with soft cushions provides a perfect spot to relax and read a book or enjoy the views and ever changing skies over Exmoor. The spacious kitchen is well-designed with ample worktop space, a dishwasher, washer-dryer, and a full-sized fridge freezer. Equipped with an oven, grill, ceramic hob, microwave, cafetière, hand blender, and all necessary cookware, the kitchen overlooks a bird-filled hedgerow. Exmoor Teas, ground coffee, olive oil, and basic condiments are provided. Whitebeam has two double bedrooms and a twin, each providing a calm sanctuary with French linen or high quality cotton bedding. Two bathrooms include one with a walk-in shower and another with a bath and shower over. We provide towels, toilet rolls, kitchen paper, and high-quality eco-friendly cleaning products. French doors open to a dining terrace with informal seating areas amid lovely planting, perfect for breakfasts or evening barbecues by the fire pit. Whitebeam is dog friendly and there are blankets, bowls, and eco-friendly dog bags There are 2 rewilded fields with mown paths through and places to picnic or play. We have two EV chargers on site as well as plenty of parking. A utility room has laundry facilities and a lending library of books and games. There is an art room available for the use of our guests ( except for when art courses are running).

Situated near the lovely towns of Lynton and Lynmouth and within easy reach of Exmoor National Park, the southwest coastal path, beaches and temperate rainforest, Moor and Sea is the perfect base from which to explore this unspoiled part of the world. Lynton and Lynmouth are our local towns connected by the famous Victorian water-powered funicular railway. Lynmouth is a pretty harbour town with a long stretch of shingle and rock beach which is lovely to swim ​off at high tide. Both towns are fun to explore with a variety of local independent shops, galleries, restaurants, cafes and cosy pubs. Lynton is also famous for the stunning landscape at Valley of Rocks with beaches at Lee Bay and Wringcliffe. Walking around this area is wonderfully varied from the woodland riverside walks with waterfalls and cool pools for wild swimming to breathtaking coastal paths and open expanses of moorland. North Devon has some of the loveliest and cleanest beaches in the world. From the international surf reserve at Woolacombe with 3 miles of golden sands to the secluded coves of Heddon Mouth and Broadsands. So many places to explore from castles and gardens to the coastline by boat trip or kayak!
