Tucked away along a quiet lane in the Forest of Dean, just two miles from the village of Longhope, Old Myrtle Cottage is a charming countryside retreat with far-reaching views over rolling fields and wooded hills. Full of character, its beamed ceilings, flagstone floors, and panelled walls create a sense of history, while soft tones and comfortable furnishings make it instantly welcoming. Outside, the garden offers an open, sunlit spot for leisurely breakfasts or peaceful evenings under the stars, with only birdsong and the rustle of leaves for company. From the doorstep, scenic walks lead through ancient woodland and open countryside, while nearby villages and cosy pubs promise plenty to explore. Old Myrtle Cottage is a restful base for those seeking the quiet beauty and gentle pace of rural life. Please note a 25% deposit is required at the time of booking. This is fully refundable up to 60 days of arrival when your remaining balance payment is due. This property has a check-in time of 15:00 and a check-out time of 10:00. 2 well-behaved dogs are permitted for an additional fee of 40GBP per dog. Please advise us at the time of booking if you are bringing a dog/s and you will be sent a request for the additional fee. The garden is not fully closed so please keep dogs and children supervised whilst outside. Please note, the ceiling in the kitchen/dining room is particularly low, so this cottage may not be suitable for anyone over 6'2". There is an acre of paddock land belonging to the cottage behind the outdoor dining area which guests can use - please not this is not entirely securely fenced so owners will need to keep dogs on a lead.
