We are in a rural farming community but very accessible to the north Devon and Cornwall coast, Dartmoor and Exmoor. Hi! We are Richard and Helen, the owners of two beautiful cottages (converted from a Devon Long Barn) in rural North Devon (Petrock Holiday Cottages). We look forward to welcoming you to our rural retreat, nestled in the beautiful Devon countryside. We live on site, so are very happy to help with any local information but the cottages are very private with their own entrances, expansive gardens (shared with one other cottage) and private decking areas. Richard is a sculptor and also works for a charity from home. Helen used to be an early years teacher and now primarily runs the cottages and takes care of the expansive gardens which surround them. We have Hendrix the French Bulldog and Otis, our elderly black and white cat live with us, now that our sons have flown the nest! We hope you will enjoy the peace, tranquility and dark starry skies in our little hamlet, as much as we do. We love nothing more than our long beach walks all year round or escaping to the moors! A warm welcome awaits you at our 'home from home' cottages, from where you will be able to explore this beautiful part of the world.

We are located in Ruby Country, enclosed by the upland expanses of Bodmin, Exmoor and Dartmoor, and to the north by the wild and rugged North Devon and Cornwall coast. We are situated within a rural farming community which enjoys peace and quiet, dark skies at night and plenty of birdsong. For great days out visit Great Torrington (15 minute drive) to experience Dartington Crystal, the incredible RHS Rosemoor Gardens or the Tarka Trail for miles of traffic free walking and cycling for the whole family. Head to the Cornish Coast at Bude (25 minutes drive) for the great beach vibe and surfing plus access to the South West Coastal Path. Visit Appledore (30 minutes drive) to stroll the promenade, eat fish and chips and people watch from its many cafes. Visit Instow for its year round dog- friendly beach, sand-dunes and beach-side eateries. The famous fishing village of Clovelly is also just a short drive away, as is Hartland Abbey and Hartland Quay (popular filming locations). We are close to Westward Ho! (30 minutes drive) with it's 3 mile sandy beach and within easy reach of The Eden Project, Boscastle, Tintagel Castle and famous Padstow. We love the wildness of the North Devon and Cornwall coast - visit us for this and relax in our comfortable cottages after a day out in the fresh air!
