Poplars Cottage is a converted Stable Block set in the beautiful countryside, just outside of the historic town of Usk. Surrounded by rolling hills and lovely views, it's the perfect couples retreat or place for your little one to run free (as we do have a travel cot). The cottage is set one one level, with one bedroom with en-suite, large living space with a wood burner for the colder months and kitchen diner and separate utility room. There is also a separate WC, ideal if you are hosting friends during your stay. Bi-fold doors lead onto a lovely covered patio area to relax and enjoy the views and peaceful sunsets. The cottage is private, set in 15 acres, however the grounds are shared between the owner and another family residing in other properties. You're free to explore as public footpaths run through the land, but please be respectful of the others living on the property. The cottage is walking distance to local pub, The Hall Inn. It's very popular for dining, so booking in advance is recommended. A car is recommended but access to bus routes to Newport & Monmouth are in walking distance. Tea, Coffee, Milk is provided for arrival.

Gwehelog is an idyllic village set between Raglan and Usk and we are a great base for those who love walking, cycling and generally being outdoors or as a comfortable retreat. The cottage is walking distance to The Hall Inn pub, serving lovely food. The historic market town of Usk is a very short drive, full of wonderful traditional local pubs, restaurants and local businesses, including breweries and distilleries. Usk is famous for it's Usk in Bloom status and it's a sight to behold in the summer months. For more information about the immediate area. Just beyond Usk is the spectacular Llandegveth Reservoir which offers water sports and walking trails. We are a car journey away from larger cities such as Cardiff (30 minutes) and Bristol (35 minutes) with fantastic shopping, restaurants and night life. The Brecon Beacons National Park is on the doorstep
