Escape Beyond Holiday Lets is a family ran business comprising of three holiday lets situated in the historic village of Lanchester, County Durham- a luxury apartment and two cosy, quaint cottages. All our staff are local to the area offering that warm welcome and relaxed service. We want you to feel at home in your luxury escape, with everything you require at hand so you can do as much- or as little- as you wish during your stay. Our focus is helping you enjoy that precious time together, either as a couple, a group of friends or as a family. Here at Escape Beyond we like everyone to be invited, that’s why we are 100% dog friendly! Situated in the heart of the village, the front entrance of the cottage benefits from a private driveway. Using the front door, you will enter the lounge with its feature fireplace, log effect fire and Smart TV. The large window cascades natural light into the lounge making it the perfect room to relax and admire the views of the Lanchester Valley Railway Path. As you head through the living room into the kitchen you will discover a dining area, the traditional wooden table and forms easily seats four people. An ideal sized kitchen is fully equipped for all your needs- with a gas hob, fan oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and integrated washer dryer, you will have everything you need to cook as little or as much as you desire. Within the kitchen is a great seating area with a sofa, Smart TV and patio doors looking out onto the rear garden- a great spot to sit at while the food is cooking or to simply admire the beautiful walled garden. As you head up the stairs from the lounge you will discover two bedrooms- the first bedroom with an elegant double bed, triple wardrobe, dressing table and Smart TV. The master bedroom comprises of a double bed, Smart TV and double wardrobe. Heading up the stairs from the master bedroom, you will find a dressing table set amongst beautiful original beams. This diverse area is also home to a games room and reading nook. The modern bathroom benefits from a bath with an overhead shower, a vanity unit with a Bluetooth LED mirror and luxury toiletries. Externally, the rear garden comprises of a five-seater hot tub, planted borders, lawn, seating area and bicycle storage area. The fully secluded garden makes for a great evening with family and friends. The cottage is situated next to the Lanchester Valley Walk and with many other routes surrounding the village, it is the perfect rural retreat. Dog friendly!

Our quaint stone cottage is nestled in the historic village of Lanchester overlooking the Lanchester Railway Path . From the property, you can walk to the local shops, dog friendly bars, and restaurants and discover a network of pretty walking and cycling routes for all the family. The village has Roman origins unlike most Durham villages which have mining backgrounds. Lanchester is an ideal place to stay to visit the North of England in fact the Lake District is only 1.5 hours away and the North East coast is less than an hour. Visitors will want to see Durham (8 miles) and its magnificent cathedral, castle, historic university buildings, museums, and relaxing river walks. Explore Beamish, the Living Museum of the North for a full day of adventure and children of all ages might like Diggerland and Potters Tropical Village at the popular, local garden centre. Head to Newcastle (15 miles) for shopping, art and culture, and a boat trip on the River Tyne calling at the Metro Centre, one of Europe’s biggest indoor shopping centres (13 miles.) Drive to Hexham Abbey, the Roman forts in Hadrian’s Wall Country, venture into the North Pennines or visit the market town of Barnard Castle.
