"Sealladh Sona" Translates to peaceful view. Great location for walking, cycling, kayaking, canoeing and site seeing or just relaxing with direct access to the beautiful Caledonian Canal and the city of Inverness. Set with views along the canal and over the city of Inverness, a peaceful location but only a short 15 min flat walk to the centre of town. Moray Firth to the East and Loch Ness to the West, a perfect base to explore the Highlands. Our cottage is equipped and furnished to a high standard. "Smart" TV's with free Netflix in the lounge and bedrooms and free Wi-Fi throughout. We can organise safe storage for cycles, canoes and Kayaks on request. This property is not suitable for children, we only accept children over the age of 14, we have a maximum capacity of 4 persons.

Our small cottage was built in the 1880's and is a traditional sandstone building. The location on the banks of the Caledonian Canal is normally a peaceful spot with uninterrupted views over Inverness and towards the hills. We are reasonably close to the centre of town but far enough to enjoy the peace, the name of our house translates to peaceful view. There are often swans in the canal outside the house and otters are often spotted on quieter parts of the day. The tow path runs below the house and is a popular walking, running and cycling route, there are lots of walks directly from the house. Just a few hundred yards to the Muirtown locks you can watch the boats negotiating the lock system. We are Jim and Christina, this was our home for 7 years before we decided to open the doors originally as a Bed and Breakfast which we operated for 10 years, we now offer the cottage part of the property as a self catering holiday let. it was and is still a part of our family home and we enjoy living here at Sealladh Sona. We want our guests to enjoy their stay and also to enjoy Inverness and the Highlands of Scotland.

Situated on the banks of the Caledonian Canal but only a 15 minute stroll into the town centre. Peaceful and safe location with free on-site parking. Lovely walks from the doorstep and a perfect launch pad for exploring the Highlands, Loch Ness is only a short drive away. From your window you will see boats, yachts and ships sail by, panoramic views over Inverness, and the Castle.
