I enjoy hosting this cottage because I enjoy seeing people enjoy the magic of this place. I have been here since i was a child, and the feeling, beauty and peacefulness still surprises me every time.

I suggest if you are arriving via Ferry to Stornoway, to stock up on food and products from the Tescos/Co-op. If arriving via Ferry to Tarbert, you can visit Ardhasaig Fuelling station for fuel, snacks or hardware. Or Ravenspoint, another petrol station and shop is on the way to the cottage. I recommend not risking it fuel or food supplies. Most shops will be closed Sundays, and there isn't a super local shop with everything you need. Part of the fun! For shopping needs, the closest shop is at Ravenscroft, a 20 minute drive from the cottage. It has essentials and also petrol, it typically only takes cash. If you are looking for a wider range of amenities, Stornoway, the largest town on the Isle of Lewis, is approximately a 45-minute drive and offers supermarkets, restaurants, and various attractions to explore. Notable locations nearby include the beautiful Calbost sea loch, breathtaking beaches of Dalmore and Dalbeg, where they can enjoy walks and scenic views. Calanish Standing Stones (~50mins), The Gearrannan Blackhouse Village (~1hr) and Luskentyre Beach (~1hr10) are all must visits if you get the time. OUTDOORS ACTIVITIES REQUIRE YOU TO BE CAREFUL AND MINDFUL OF FOOTING!
