Our cottage is an old stable that was renovated in 1998 in to a small living quarters, with some existing stone walled garden remains still remaining. The king bed is furnished with good quality cotton bedsheets as we believe in comfort for our guests; the mattress is medium-firm. The small kitechette is well equipped with adequate cutlery, crockery and saucepans, and there is a double oven also with oven dishes. Oil, salt, pepper, sugar, spices, tea and coffee are provided. The shower room and bathroom is small in jkeeping with the property. The shower is electric; as the cottage is old the pressure isn't fantastic but it serves its purpose and you can still wake up and feel refreshed after a shower here. The dining and living area is more than comfortable for two people, with a small dining table and a couple of chairs. There is a sofa and armchair for relaxing after a days walking, with a flat screen smart TV with netflix etc pre-installed. If the weather allows, there is also a small garden with garden bench overlooking the fields, and a stoned patio area with picnic table overlooking Roslin Glen. There is access to the Glen through a gate to the rear of the building.

Ian is an engineer working in renewables. We live right beside the cottage in our new home, loving the country life and doing what we can to create a relaxing and peaceful environment. Fanny teaches French to adults in town at Edinburgh University adn the French Institute.

We are located in the countryside, a short distance from the historical town of Roslin and nearby village of Rosewell. We have one adjacent property but other than that, we are in the middle of fields. Behind us is Roslin Glen, perfect for walking and exploring Scotland's great wildlife. Driving is a must if you want to stay here, but then when you're here you dan enjoy isolation and serenity.
