Snuggled in a tranquil and picturesque setting Stable Cottage is in a quiet rural location close to the village of Bardon Mill, thus providing the prefect base for exploring Hadrian’s Wall and beyond. The single storey accommodation is immaculately presented. A wood-burning stove ensures a warm welcome inside awaits guests whatever the season, whilst the pretty patio garden is perfect for summer barbecues. This delightful stone built barn conversion has been totally renovated to provide extremely comfortable 2-bedroomed holiday accommodation. Children are welcome and we are happy to provide cots or a toddler bed if needed. We regret that we can no longer accept pets.
Stable Cottage is part of Stanegate Hideaways self-catering accommodation, which we have been running for 9 years...I love the business and I love cooking, so guests can look forward to a welcome including home-baking as well as local produce and our own free-range eggs to help with their self-catering! We live just a few minutes' along the valley, so we are on-hand if you need us.
Just 3 miles from the most spectacular stretches of Hadrian's Wall, Stable Cottage is literally "just down the road" from Roman Vindolanda and The Sill Landscape Discovery Centre. With the whole of The Northumberland National Park and Dark Skies Park to the North, the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to the South, easy access to the vibrant city of Newcastle 30 miles to the East and the Lake District to the West there is always somewhere to go... For keen cyclists, the cottage is by Routes 68 and 72, and we have secure cycle storage.
