Tannery Cottage is centrally located in this popular Exmoor village, just a stone's throw from the High Street. The owners have painstakingly renovated this property from top to bottom, giving attention to every small detail. Below which is a record player and a comprehensive vinyl collection with something for everyone. A smart TV is above the mantlepiece which also connects to terrestrial TV. Through an opening to the left is the kitchen area, at the far end of the kitchen a door opens into the shower room. Back to the living area, a door leads through to the downstairs double bedroom. A mezzanine level overlooks the living area, where two single beds are located for up to two further guests - accessed via the paddle stairs and step over beam. Please note, the mezzanine twin bedroom has limited head space due to the sloping ceilings. Tannery Cottage will be ready from 4pm on the day of your arrival. Please depart by 10am on the last day of your stay. If the cottage is available earlier on the day of your arrival, the owners will text you.

Often described as 'the jewel in Exmoor's crown', Porlock has a long history of settlements existing on or near the site of the existing village. It's a working village and includes pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and independent shops. There are few more delightful surroundings than Porlock Vale, nestled at the foot of Porlock Hill, bounded to the north by its shingle ridge and breathtaking views towards the Bristol Channel and to the south by the rolling hills of Exmoor National Park. The Exmoor coastline is formed mainly of cliffs but at Porlock the land flattens out and a unique mile long shingle ridge and an inland salt marsh have formed. For the bird watcher this is a very interesting site as a great variety of waders and wildfowl can be seen here in the winter as well as the occasional unusual birds passing through. Today Porlock is a wonderful working Exmoor village and boasts three pubs, two grocery shops, a traditional local butcher, chemist, cash machine, hardware shop, visitor centre, several art galleries and a range of independent restaurants, shops and tea rooms.
