Since 2015 when I arrived in Stamford at the Garden House & Coach House I have loved welcoming guests to the Houses from all over the world. Both properties needed a lot of love & attention and both Jackie, my Housekeeper, & I have enjoyed seeing returning guests remark on the changes we have made. My main interests have always been around animals having had dogs all my life, daughters with horses & at present I have 4 Setters who keep me very active with the walking. Dogs are always very welcome in both Houses. My other joy is gardening and we have Heather as our gardener in Stamford to thank for maintaining the grounds. I also enjoy most sport with football & tennis being my favourites. Sport has played a major part in my life from my husband having played football, son & daughter having played Rugby & Tennis at very high levels, we have always been an active & outdoor family. You will always be met by either Jackie or myself to show you where everything is & to make sure your stay will be as enjoyable as possible. The Coach House is a stand alone property within the grounds of The Garden House. It has it's own access off a private lane at the rear of the Garden House. If both properties are required, then we can unlock the gate to allow access directly into the gardens. The recently renovated kitchen has everything you would need for a stay, fridge/freezer, oven & hob, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer along with pots/pans, utensils, crockery, cutlery & glasses. A Tassimo coffee machine with a few pods for your skinny latte or full blown Cappuccino is also on hand along with a welcome basket on the side. The 3 bedrooms have had new beds recently all white bed linen & towels are washed by a laundry service. Family bathroom has a bath with shower over, hand basin & toilet, the largest bedroom has a vanity unit with wash basin. The separate dining room leads through to the main lounge with patio doors leading out onto an area with garden furniture, flowering planters & a BBQ, you can also leave your car in this secure area. Reclining settees in the lounge, a flat screen TV with Netflix, also board games, cards & books are provided along with full free WiFi

The Houses are situated in the St Martins area of Stamford, this is an exclusive residential area just across the road from the Burghley House Estate parkland. Stamford itself is a town sculpted from pale limestone, Stamford doesn’t have a dominant monument that you have to see as a priority, but rather there’s a whole streetscape of stone-built townhouses, churches, almshouses, cottages and imposing civic buildings to take in. Up to the 19th century Stamford was a stop on the coaching highway the Great North Road, and the Garden House is a converted coaching inn from that time the oldest part dating back to 1674 From the Coach House is a 5 minute walk down to the town, river & meadows or 5 minutes the other way is the Golf Course. In the outlying village of Little Casterton, Tolethorpe Hall a country house and garden owned by the Stamford Shakespeare Company. In the summer season people make a bee-line for the open-air theatre for performances of two of Shakespeare’s works, as well as a play by other important playwright's such a Noël Coward. The property has been a country house since the Norman Conquest. Whatever the reason to visit us there is something to suit everyone.
