The Old Chequers is a lovely six-bedroom (all en suite) house with a large garden, hot tub, and games room. Perfect for multi-generational gatherings, it brings friends, family—and pets—together in one luxurious space. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement and incur an additional charge per pet. The open-plan kitchen is equipped to a very high standard, featuring solid wood worktops, a large freestanding oven with separate grill and hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, coffee machine, milk frother, kettle, and toaster. The main dining area includes a drinks fridge and a table seating twelve, while the utility room houses a washing machine, tumble dryer, extra dishwasher, sink, and two fridge freezers. Ground floor entertainment areas are thoughtfully divided to suit everyone staying. Relax by the cosy log burner in the lounge, enjoy a movie on the large corner sofa in the TV room with surround sound, or unwind in the conservatory overlooking the garden. For those needing to work, a dedicated workspace is available. The newly added games room features a stunning pool table, arcade console, extra TV, and large glass doors opening onto the garden. The flint stone-walled garden includes a wood-fired hot tub, BBQ Weber, and large lawn. Outdoor seating is available by the fire pit in the pebbled courtyard and on the garden deck. The sole downstairs bedroom is wheelchair-friendly with a walk-in shower. Upstairs, the master bedroom boasts a private dressing room and full en suite with walk-in shower, large freestanding tub, and underfloor heating. The ante room adjacent to the master includes a sofa bed and TV. Four additional bedrooms upstairs each have a Bluetooth speaker, wardrobe, and full en suite. The Old Chequers offers a tranquil retreat to disconnect, while also providing high-speed fiber internet and networked speakers throughout.

My South African husband and I have travelled the world - from South America, Asia, Australasia, Africa and Europe. I grew up in the UK and Spain, and we are now living in Hertfordshire, where I am originally from. We love to travel, meet locals and see new places. We have added three little people to our family, which makes us a family of five. Henry was born in Autumn 2016, Jude in Autumn 2018 and Finn in Spring 2022. Since starting our little family, we decided that we wanted to have our own getaway pad that wasn't too far afield for those tiresome car journeys with little ones. South Creake is the perfect location, thanks to the tranquil setting of the village, which makes it great for a break-away, and its proximity to the popular towns of Burnham Market and Wells-Next-the-Sea. Our holiday home, The Old Chequers, is our home away from home.

The Old Chequers, previously the Chequers Inn, is nestled in the quiet village of South Creake on the North Norfolk Coast. It is a wonderful property and is the perfect base for large groups of friends or families looking for a peaceful, relaxing retreat in a great location. Families with young children will be delighted to know that there is a children’s playground located on the village green, as well as a tennis court and bowling green. We are conveniently located within an 8-minute drive to both Burnham Market and Wells-next-the-Sea and a 10-minute drive to the famous Holkham Estate and Holkham Beach. Our kids absolutely love the extensive Woodland Play Area at Holkham Hall, which features treehouses, climbing frames, swings, slides and sandpits, and also has a special play area for toddlers. There are a variety of beaches on the North Norfolk coast, including Wells-next-the-Sea beach, Holkham beach, the beaches at Hunstanton and Heacham, and many others. Brancaster and Wells-next-the-Sea are great beaches for dog walking, and Cromer is popular for crabbing at the pier.
