The Salt House is a spacious recently refurbished Victorian holiday home in the heart of Ilfracombe's historic harbour. Within a fifty meter radius lie numerous restaurants (including Michelin Star and Bib Gourmand holders) friendly local pubs and the harbour beach for dog walking or watching the life of a busy working fishing harbour. The beautiful sandy beaches of Woolacombe, Saunton and Croyde are only a short distance away. The house is set over three floors with a large kitchen/diner and generous lounge area. The main entrance hall has racks for bicycles, boards, diving equipment etc as well as buggies and pushchairs. The master bedroom (with ensuite) has a super king sized bed with the remaining beds king sized (with option to convert to twins). Pets more than welcome.
We live locally and look forward to welcoming you to The Salt House. We have two dogs who love spending time on the beach and walking on the coastal paths. We enjoy cooking at home (mostly sourced from local suppliers) as well as eating out in Ilfracombe's many excellent restaurants.
Damien Hirst's 'Verity' is visible from the top floors of The Salt House and draws visitors from all over the UK. Easy access to award winning beaches for sunbathing and surfing together with breathtaking coastal walks (which can be commenced without stepping into the car) also make the area popular both in and out of season. Fishing and nature watching charters operate from the harbour as do ferries to Lundy and beyond. Ilfracombe is also fast becoming a foodie destination due to the fantastic range of seafood and game available locally and the many great restaurants in town taking advantage of this.
