The Walkhampton Inn is a 17th Century Inn with much of its original character, oak beams, exposed stone walls, a large inglenook open fire and an other with a woodburning stove. Our large beer garden is surrounded by a stone wall which has stood for centuries originally for tying up horses. Behind the garden is the original cobbled road from Plymouth to Tavistock meaning this purpose built inn has probably been here since the 10th Century. We are passionate about remaining a traditional country pub, keeping as many features as feasible. Our drink selection is ever rotating with real ale & cider as well as an extensive gin & rum selection, utilising the many local breweries, cideries and distilleries. The kitchen serves hearty pub food, all of which made in house from scratch, using the best and most freshest local ingredients all at a reasonable price. The menu includes our signature homemade skin on triple cooked chips and interesting selection of homemade ice creams. You will be welcomed by local, friendly and attentive staff looking to ensure your stay is all it should be. Guests have a choice of five double en-suite rooms all of which have recently been refurbished. New & comfortable beds are accompanied by a TV with freesat, tea & coffee making facilities and a separate entrance to the garden. We have worked extensively to sound proof all the rooms from the busy pub downstairs, where some noise can only be heard during times of live music. Breakfast consists of both cold and hot options tailored to your taste at any time in the morning that you may need it. We have always been regular pub goers and have watched the ups and downs of all the local pubs and are very well travelled, always looking at ideas and what service is provided. Our focus is always to provide the best we can for our customers and guests in line with our objectives and goals. We want to provide a happy, relaxed and friendly atmosphere to work in, eat and drink in and stay in. we want traditional tasty homemade food at a good price, with standard classics that you want over and over again with one off specials if you want to tray a change. Theme weekends to energise the chef and entertain the regulars. We are also a pub where you can just have a drink, we maintain excellent beers and ciders are again always trying new local beers, or just come in for a coffee and cake, or homemade ice cream.
