Lyme Regis is situated on the magnificent UNESCO Jurassic Coast, it's known as the pearl of Dorset and upon visiting, it's easy to see why. A famous spot for fossil hunters worldwide, it also sits on the South West Coast Path and offers a whole host of wonderful hikes and walks nearby. Lyme Regis' sheltered south-facing beaches are safe for both children and water sport enthusiasts, with great fishing and leisure boat opportunities available from the Cobb Harbour. It has a fantastic food and music scene and is often used as a prime filming location. There are also festivals and events happening in the town throughout the year. Some of the bigger ones include the jazz and folk festivals, Food Rocks, Regatta & Carnival Week, Guitars On The Beach, and Lifeboat Week which offers a week of fun, games, music and displays for all the family. The Marine Theatre, organise a variety of performances and recitals that take place throughout the summer. Less than 300 yards away are the quaint shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. The Town Mill, which acts as a cultural hub for Lyme Regis, boasts galleries, restaurants and the Lyme Regis micro-brewery and taproom.
