Refurbished in 2023 - Wheelwright’s Cottage is located in a quiet rural hamlet nestling among the rolling Derbyshire hills near Ashbourne, within easy reach of the Peak District and Alton Towers and only minutes from the main communications. Fast WiFi included.
Wheelwright’s Cottage is a charming rural retreat and offers a delightful blend of comfort, modern amenities, and picturesque surroundings.
The property offers a well-equipped kitchen with high-end appliances and ample worktop space; a spacious dining room, comfortable sitting room with plush sofas and a cosy ambiance as well as a large wall mounted TV with all digital tv and a well-appointed bathroom. Upstairs, there are three double bedrooms, all offering zip and link beds which can be configured as required. Each room is tastefully decorated and generously equipped, providing a serene and restful atmosphere.
The lovely lawned cottage garden, adorned with vibrant flowers and lush greenery, is ideal for guests with dogs. The garden also features charming decking area with seating and a gas BBQ. Beyond the garden lies a pony paddock, offering a picturesque backdrop with stunning views.

The immediate surrounding area of Rodsley offers a wealth of activities and attractions to enhance your holiday experience. Explore the stunning countryside surrounding Rodsley. Nearby, the Yeaveley Estate offers countryside pursuits including clay pigeon shooting. Longford Lakes is the perfect destination for avid anglers and Wheelwright’s Cottage sits on cycle route 68, popular with cyclists.
For golfers, Ashbourne and Brailsford Golf clubs are within a 5-minute drive and the renowned Kedleston Park Golf Club is 15 minutes away. At nearby Darley Moor, you will find a WW1 Tiger Moth which is available for pleasure flights from April until October.
Wheelwright’s Cottage is within a few miles of several very good gastro pubs. We are very happy to provide advice or help with table reservations. The market town of Ashbourne lies four miles to the west and is bustling with bars, restaurants and independent shops as well as supermarkets. Beyond Ashbourne, take a leisurely stroll along the nearby trails, such as the Tissington Trail or at Dovedale and soak in the natural beauty of the Peak District National Park.
