Located in the popular market town of Barnard Castle, Wood Street Cottage is a welcoming and homely place to stay. Sleeping up to 4 guests, it’s the ideal place for a family staycation or a getaway with friends. You’ll have full access to the property during your stay which includes a living room, kitchen diner, two bedrooms, a family bathroom and a yard space with outdoor furniture. The holiday home features a comfortable sitting room with flat-screen TV, a separate dining area with a Cambridge Audio sound system, a fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven, microwave and washing machine. There are two double bedrooms on the first floor, - one is king sized. The bathroom has both bath and walk-in shower. Guests of Wood Street Cottage benefit from complimentary Wi-Fi, private parking on site and a small courtyard garden that catches the afternoon sun.

Wood Street Cottage is located right in the centre of Barnard Castle, halfway between the 12th century castle itself and the Bowes Museum. Both are only a 5-minute walk away from the property. You can set off direct from the house to explore the historic yards around the town, follow the blue plaque trail, simply wander through Flatt’s Wood or do a circular walk alongside the River Tees to see the ruins of Egglestone Abbey. There is easy access to charming villages and country walks throughout the Upper Dale. This small market town is loaded with fascinating architecture, antique shops, as well as many small independent shops not seen on an average high street. Cafés and pubs serving home-made food and coffee shops abound, and some very good restaurants are in the vicinity.
