Nestled in the heart of the “Gateway to the Lakes,” Woodman’s Cottage, Penrith offers charming accommodation just moments from the lively town centre. With shops, pubs, cafés, restaurants, and takeaways right on your doorstep, you’re perfectly placed whether you fancy a family meal, a spot of shopping, or a night of live entertainment. Despite its central location, the cottage enjoys a peaceful position at the end of a quiet alley, with the added convenience of being directly opposite the bus station for easy travel around Cumbria and beyond.
Spacious, warm, and inviting, the cottage features a shared courtyard with seating—ideal for al fresco dining or simply soaking up the sunshine. Inside, the cosy lounge/dining area offers two comfortable sofas arranged around a Smart TV, perfect for catching up on your favourite shows or streaming the latest films via Netflix. The dining table provides a welcoming spot for home-cooked meals or leisurely breakfasts while you plan your day’s adventures.
The well-equipped kitchen includes everything you need to cook up a feast, with an electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, and dishwasher.
Upstairs, you’ll find two beautifully furnished bedrooms, each with a king-size bed—one of which can be converted into twin beds upon request. The family bathroom is fitted with a rainfall shower over the bath, plus a hand basin and WC.
All electricity, bed linen, and towels are included. A cot and highchair are available, and up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Please note there is no private parking; Penrith operates a disc parking scheme during the day, and a car park is conveniently located opposite. There’s also a shared courtyard with the neighbouring property, The Loft, complete with table and chairs for relaxing or outdoor dining.

Penrith sits in the picturesque Eden Valley, surrounded by rolling countryside that’s perfect for leisurely walks and scenic cycling routes, often ending at cosy village pubs serving local ales and hearty food. T he bustling market town of Keswick is just a 30-minute drive along the A66, while the serene waters of Ullswater are a mere 15 minutes away. From there, the breathtaking Kirkstone Pass offers a memorable route to Ambleside and Windermere. The historic city of Carlisle—with its impressive castle, cathedral, and array of shops—is also just half an hour’s drive. Thanks to its excellent connections via the M6 and A66, Penrith is an ideal base for exploring the very best of Cumbria.
