Hidden Retreats concept was conceived many years before it opened in 2016, when the owner visited the hill on which it is located as a young teenager - a hill which has been ‎part of the family history for many years. Indeed a hill where her father would play hide and seek behind the olive tree perched at its highest point when he too was a young boy. It is a structure inspired by the love for the island and its unique beauty, passion for hospitality and for high standards of personalised service, and the desire to showcase those qualities to the soul traveller looking for a secluded destination off the beaten track. Built into the hill, each house blends discreetly into the local landscape, in harmony with the environment, and each provides it's own unique window onto a different aspect - sea, valley, green, blue . The centrepiece theatre provides a home for local cultural experiences. All the embodiment of goals and ideals which launched the concept in the first place. Karavas Village - A quaint traditional village in the north part of the island set in a scene of terraced hills and lush greenery. It is the starting point of a lot of established hiking trails. Nearby attractions: Moudari light house, the fresh water springs (most famous: Portokalia, Amir Ali, Keramari), random settlements to discover, the pine forest of Gerakari village, the bakery of Karavas. Beaches: Fournoi beach offering sunbeds, umbrellas and a beach bar ; the quaint fishing village of Platia Ammos with crystal clear waters and snack bar. Be adventurous and discover the natural untouched beaches of the north. Restaurants: Lemonokipos (traditional), Amir Ali (Greek cuisine with a twist and regularly offering live music). Potamos Village – The largest commercial centre of the north with distinct neoclassical buildings and lively atmosphere. Visit the farmers' market on Sunday. Many coffee shops, restaurants and bars to visit. Agia Pelagia - Sea side village – a tourist spot with sunbeds and umbrellas and wheelchair access to the sea, plus untouched natural beaches.
