Casa di Mama is located in the traditional semi-mountainous village of Valanio in Corfu, known for its picturesque alleys and narrow ground floor or two-storey houses of the island, the three historic churches within the village as well as the monastery ofSaint Nikolaos. The central square is full of life and melodies in all festive moments, with the well-known tavern of Alekos serving grilled and traditional Corfu food, the grocery store of Evi and the café of Stamatis. The natural landscape on the outskirts of the village, with dense forests and small rivers, such as Ortholithos and Macena, attracts many hikers and nature lovers explorers every year. On the ground floor there is a living room (with a sofa bed for one person to sleep), a separate kitchen and a bathroom (with bathtub). The entrance is from a courtyard on the alley. On the 1st floor there is the main living room (with two sofas, one of which converts into a bed for two people) and a bedroom with a double bed. The balcony of the living room, ideal for breakfast or afternoon coffee, overlooks the mountain and the village. A car can be parked at the end of the village, at 100m. about from the house. The house belonged to Mrs. Eleni Krasaki, who had a special love and inclination to poetry and embroidery, which she dealt with in her free time. In Casa di Mama you will find a poetry prize, in frame, received in 1969 , as well as many of her embroideries, themed on Corfu, known historical events or nature.
