Realizing that Frangokastello is ideal for families looking for a quiet holiday in an unspoiled location, we built these apartments as a comfortable base from which to explore the region, and a place to relax in, between excursions to the mountains and other nearby sights. Every year we take in our customers comments and try to be a bit better the next year!
Monachus Monachus Apartments is operated by the Georgilidakis family. We run the apartments as a family business, for families and couples. 2019 is the fourteenth season for us and the apartments. We are still new at what we do, but we are aiming to offer to our guests the sort of experience we would like to have in our own holidays.
The south of Western Crete in general is a wild, unspoiled place, largely mountainous, with isolated beaches here and there. Frangokastello is a bit unique in being a large plain among the mountains, offering multiple beaches, close to each other, with plenty of tavernas which are not crowded together, like you see them in many tourist destinations. Frangokastello is expanding, slowly, but it is a very long way from getting crowded yet!
