However, in case you prefer relaxing at home we provide a wonderful private pool which is combined with a children's pool for our little ones. There you can enjoy swimming and having the view of the greenery that the wonderful Cretan mountains have gifted us as well as palm trees, grass and flowers. During the afternoons or whenever you like, you can visit the local church in Drys which is 3 minutes by vechile, a church dedicated to Archangels Michael and Garbiel or visit a unique river nearby. There is plenty of nature to enjoy in the village Drys. At night, the skies where Villa Raks is located are so clear, since the environment is so pure, you can even see the stars so clearly, just like you are in a planetarium! We guarantee that you will get the best sleep in our accomodation and the best quality of air. Villa Raks accomodation is consisted of one large kitchen with all the necessities provided with 2 dining rooms inside the home and 2 outside in case you want to enjoy your meals outside in the patio, a beautiful living room and 3 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms and plenty of storage for all your belongings. Villa Raks is located in the village of Drys which is about 1 hour from the old town of Chania, Crete. Coming to the village you can enjoy your meal at "Elias Thea" a wonderful tavern with traditional food and a unique view "on a plate" from a multitude of olive trees. It is worth visiting, about 8 minutes from Villa Raks, and eat in the lovely village of Kantanos to stock up with all the essentials from the mini markets there. Kantanos is a village with a long history dating back to the time of the war and will offer you the best and highest quality Cretan traditional food that you don't often find! It is worth having lunch at the tavern "To Mesostrato", at "Platia" or at the tavern "Platanos" and then enjoy traditional handmade galaktobureko and many other sweets at the pastry shop "Kondekakis" in Kandanos and close the evening with a drink at "Grifos". From the centre of Kantanos there is a bus service that takes you to the city of Chania, the airport and to various beaches! Within 15 minutes by car you will find yourself at the wonderful beaches of Paleochora with its beautiful blue and crystal clear waters. In Paleochora you can also dine in tavernas and modern restaurants, pizzerias such as "Odyssea" as well as cafes and bars and buy everything you need from the 2 large supermarkets. In about 55 minutes you will find yourself in the unique Elafonissi, the Kedrodasos, the historic Falassarna and the boat that runs to the lagoon of Balos and the islands of Gramvousa.
