I’m the son of the owner of Villa Mirko and your main point of contact for reservations and all administrative matters. While I work in Switzerland, my mother is on-site throughout your stay to ensure everything runs smoothly. I also visit Villa Mirko every summer for two weeks to personally check in and support where needed.

Villa Mirko is a spacious property accommodating up to 40 guests, featuring ample parking, a beautiful swimming pool, and a small gym. It’s the perfect retreat for families looking to unwind, enjoy the sea, and spend quality time together. We care deeply about the environment — our property is equipped with solar panels, and we’re continuously working to become even more sustainable.

Barbariga is a small, peaceful village on the western coast of Istria, known for its natural beauty and laid-back atmosphere. It’s not a major tourist hotspot, which makes it perfect for travelers looking to escape the crowds and enjoy an authentic Istrian experience. Most people here own holiday homes and return every summer — it’s a place where everyone knows each other, and the sense of community is strong. The coastline around Barbariga is still largely untouched, with crystal-clear water, unspoiled beaches, and dense pine forests offering shade and tranquility. It’s ideal for swimming, long walks, and quiet evenings by the sea. Despite its calm character, Barbariga is well connected to many attractions: Pula and its famous Roman Arena are just 20 minutes away. Brijuni National Park, a beautiful island paradise, can be reached by boat from nearby Fažana. Istralandia, one of Croatia’s best water parks, is an easy day trip. Charming inland towns like Grožnjan, Motovun, and Vodnjan offer local wine, truffle specialties, and stunning views. Nature lovers will enjoy exploring the surrounding landscapes, visiting ancient Roman ruins, and discovering hidden beaches. The region is also well known for its excellent olive oil, wine, and traditional Istrian cuisine. Barbariga may not be a buzzing tourist destination — and that’s exactly its charm.
