My name is Arcadius, and for years I have been in love with Croatia and its unique, relaxing climate. Together with my family, we often visit Privlaka – it is a place that never ceases to amaze us and always makes us want to come back. Privlaka is a perfect place for a family holiday, not only because of its beautiful, wide, sandy beaches with gentle access to the sea. The area offers many unique attractions and adventures that will make every day spent here unforgettable. Just a few minutes from Privlaka lies Nin—one of the oldest Croatian towns, picturesquely situated on an island connected to the mainland by bridges. Nin is famous for its remarkable monuments, such as the Church of the Holy Cross—known as “the smallest cathedral in the world,” the Church of St. Nicholas, the ruins of the largest Roman temple on the Adriatic, and the famous statue of Bishop Gregory of Nin, whose toe is said to bring good luck :) It is also worth visiting Zadar—one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Croatia, full of monuments from the Roman, Byzantine, and Venetian eras. You will discover the Roman Forum, the monumental Church of St. Donatus, the Cathedral of St. Anastasia, city walls listed as UNESCO World Heritage, as well as the famous Sea Organ and the “Greeting to the Sun” installation. Zadar also offers vibrant cafés, restaurants, and numerous cultural events. Privlaka is a great base for exploring Croatia’s most beautiful national parks: Plitvice Lakes National Park, Krka National Park—where you can swim in crystal-clear waters and admire natural beauty. The area also features the Zrmanja River canyon, known from the Winnetou movies—an ideal place for trips, kayaking, and admiring wild nature and waterfalls. While exploring the region, you can visit many other beautiful towns, enchanting with their historical architecture and unique atmosphere. Croatians are famous for their warmth and hospitality, and the region abounds in restaurants, taverns, and cafés where you can taste traditional Dalmatian and Mediterranean dishes as well as local wines. Fresh fish, seafood, olive oil, vegetables, and homemade wine create a unique culinary atmosphere.
