Hello, I am Marisa, after having had a family run business of a restaurant in the historical square of Stresa, I renovated this house between 2020 and 2021 to make a comfortable informal environment, so that people feel at home. I like to get to know my guests and if they wish, I’m pleased to offer advice on places to visit, restaurants and various activities that our area offers, between Lakes Maggiore, Mergozzo and Orta to Mottarone and the Ossola Valley which make our territory one the most desirable in the world. It is to my satisfaction to render your stay in my house a lovely memory.

“AL SAN MICHELE” is right in the heart of Stresa, the pearl of Lake Maggiore, in a very quiet area, at the beginning of a little road by the church of San Michele and a short distance on foot from the beaches, shops, restaurants and the boat station from where boats depart to visit the famous Borromean Islands. AL SAN MICHELE has 4 rooms which are 1 on ground floor, 2 on the first floor and 1 room on the second floor without lift. All the rooms are decorated in a modern and elegant style offering every comfort. Each room is complete with free Wifi connection, air conditioning, private bathroom equipped with hairdryer and courtesy items. A minibar and kettle with herbal infusions are available. Some rooms have a small balcony and/or a private terrace where you can relax. Our guest house offers just overnight stay , but a short distance on foot, facing the lake, you will find more than one tea room you can enjoy an excellent sweet or savory breakfast. The guests who wish to arrive by bicycle, it is not permitted to bring them in the rooms. However, if you book rooms nr. 1 or 2 these provide space to keep the bicycle. You are asked to mention theis request at the moment of booking. The guesthouse has no private parking facilities, but we are situated a few meters from the lakeside where there are parking places both free and on payment. AL SAN MICHELE is easily reachable both by car with motorway (A26) at Carpugnino exit and by the close train station. The nearest aiport is Milan-Malpensa, about 40 km. from the accomodation. (from April to October there is the service of Alibus: a shuttle service that connects with the Airport Milan- Malpensa Stresa).

"AL SAN MICHELE" is in a very peacful corner of Stresa yet close to the historical centre to discover our lakes and mountains which make our area one of the most beautiful destinations of the world. A short walk away are the beaches, the shops, restaurants and all the services, including the Boat Station where boats depart for the famous Borromean Islands. A pleasant walk takes you to the Villa Pallavicino surrounded by a magnificent park with many animals. The surroundings offer also some routes for bike lovers and footpaths for pleasant excursions. You can also go to Mottarone, the mountain above Stresa, from where you can see a fantastic panorama over seven lakes and enjoy a ride on the track of Alpyland. On the way to Mottarone you can stop off to visit the Alpinia Garden, 40. 000 sq meters of a natural balcony where a relaxing rest offers a view over Lake Maggiore. In addition, the Associazione Settimane Musicali di Stresa organises every year, between July, August and September, the “Stresa Festival” offering musical events of high artistic value in many different prestigious locations.
