The iconic holiday home Da Zia Lalla is located a few meters from the Sassi of Matera and boasts an exclusive view of the old city. Restored from an ancient cave dwelling, the house allows visitors the unique experience of sleeping in one the caves of the Sassi, deemed an UNESCO World Heritage Site and European Capital of Culture in 2019. Guests may enjoy the our spacious terrace with fabulous scenary of the Sassi. The atmosphere enhances the tastes of our many local dishes and guests are only disturbed by twitter and song of the lesser kestrel birds. Da Zia Lalla is ideal for hosting families of 3-4 in size or couples alike. Small domestic animals may also be welcomed. The old tuff walls combined with modern furniture and amenities provide our guests the opportunity for total relaxation. This beautiful holiday home, which is 70 sq m in size, meets every traveler’s needs and boasts a kitchenette, dining area, sleeping area, bathroom, and washing machine. The house is a historic cave house of the Sassi, the two bedrooms are located in a single room, the beds are separated by furniture only. The bathroom is in a separate room separated by a door with a key. The house is equipped with air conditioning and a small dehumidifier, in fact in some periods the house could be humid.
Let me introduce myself, I am Antonello a young Materan in love with his homeland. I am an engineer, after studying and working abroad I went back to Matera. Today I manage my business from my studio overlooking the Sassi of Matera. I like to host tourists who discover Matera for their first time and look into their eyes the amazement of a unique place in the world. I am passionate about photography and miniature constructions, the Sassi and the LEGO. I will be happy to welcome you to the "Da Zia Lalla" apartment, for your exclusive use, and to give you as much support as possible so that our trip to Matera is magnificent.
Da Zia Lalla’s strategic positioning allows our guests to enter the Sassi with a 2 minute walk. May we suggest Palombaro Lungo, the lively Vittorio Veneto Square and the shopping street? Within a ten minute walk, guests can be at the enterance to the Duomo, Tramontano Castle garden and MUSMA museum. Our staff will be happy to welcome you by providing all the necessary information.
