Welcome! I am Marilena, and I welcome you with a name that holds a promise. My name is a diminutive of Maria Maddalena: a symbol of rebirth, of being set free to return to life. It was not chosen by chance, but is a precious legacy left to me by my father, Mario, whose very life was an anthem to liberation.
My father was a young tenor. During the terrible Russian campaign, his fate seemed sealed. But a small miracle happened: a Field Marshal heard him singing in his sweet voice while he was shaving. That melody, amidst the horror, was his salvation. Captivated by the beauty of his art, the Marshal pulled him away from the front lines and took him to Corsica to enliven his lunches with song. Music saved him from death.
In those difficult years, between one letter and another, love blossomed with the gentle Annamaria, my mother. From their union, born of hope in wartime, my sister Marisa and I were born.
Today, I open the doors of the very home where Mario the Tenor and Annamaria raised us, amidst musical notes and sincere affection. These walls are not just bricks; they safeguard a story of salvation, of a love built on letters that became reality, and of the power of beauty.
My name signifies freedom and a love for life. And this is exactly the atmosphere I hope you will experience during your stay here. Welcome to our story.
