Welcome to Il Sonetto, a refined, exclusive apartment with a welcoming atmosphere, where every element has been thoughtfully chosen to combine aesthetics, comfort, and authentic Italian quality. Nestled in a 16th-century residence, the apartment has been fully renovated, preserving its historic character and enriching it with a harmonious blend of period furnishing, modern comforts and artistic details lovingly selected. The bed is fitted with high-end Made in Italy matress, 33cm of softness and firmness designed to ensure a truly restorative sleep. A selection of pillows is available, to suit each guest's individual needs. In keeping with the spirit of the place, there is no television, to encourage a genuine pause from daily routines. Here, guests are invited to slow down, unwind, read a book, or enjoy music in peace. For those who wish to stay connected, high speed Wi-FI is of course available. Direct ground-floor access through a private entrance hall makes the apartment easy to access. A private garage is available nearby, where your car can be parked safely and comfortably.

Growing up in a family where hospitality is more than a profession, and attention to detail a true value, meant being immersed from an early age in the atmosphere of our family-run hotel in Trentino. Bringing that same spirit into the apartment renovated here in Mantua, the city I share with my husband, felt like a natural step. Together, Paolo and I drew inspiration from the places that left a mark on us during our travels, historic homes, countryside villas, and gardens, to shape a space that feels welcoming, refined, and full of character. This space is a heartfelt expression of our journey through several renovation projects. As artist and decorator, I personally restored the apartment, working closely with skilled professionals, from selecting materials and designing every detail, to painting walls and finishes myself, brush in hand. It’s a place shaped by both craft and creativity. Every element has been carefully chosen to create a harmonious balance between aesthetics and comfort. And because, my atelier with bruches and textiles is next door, we believe a space should breathe with the seasons, hence we love giving the apartment a gentle shift in mood throughout the year.

The location is ideal for discovering Mantua: positioned at the threshold of the historic center, it offers a gentle stroll to the Renaissance jewel Palazzo Te and its newly restored public garden, the splendid Basilica of Sant'Andrea, countless hidden churches tucked along quiet streets. With a slightly longer walk through the hearth of Mantua, you'll reach the majestic Ducal Palace, one of Europe's largest, with over 500 rooms and the refined Palazzo D'Arco, rich in art and history.
