It’s the official, legal name of the house, just like your name and mine on a birth certificate. And if you ever visit, you’ll understand why. From as far as Varenna train station, you can already spot the little palm house in the garden, standing quietly in front of the home, like a lighthouse guiding travelers across a sea of green hills and golden light. Maybe it’s because this house has a real name, but Le Palm House also has real character. Step through the entrance, and you'll be welcomed into a spacious living area that blends seamlessly with the dining room, all framed by a wide lake-facing window. The kitchen is fully equipped and opens directly onto the crown jewel of the property: a 70 sqm private terrace with breathtaking views over Lake Como. The house includes: 2 bedrooms: one large double room and one single room (can be set up with two single beds) A double sofa bed in the living room 1 spacious bathroom with a bathtub A utility room with washing machine and luggage storage Every bedroom opens to the garden or terrace, bathing the home in natural light thanks to its southwest orientation. The air is fresh, the view is uninterrupted, and the silence, especially at night, is almost sacred. To one side of the house lies an old olive grove. Behind it, a peaceful forest path invites you for a morning walk or an afternoon of stillness. But above all, the terrace and garden offer what many believe to be the best panoramic view in all of Lake Como. Le Palm House isn’t just a place to stay. It’s a place that stays with you.

A few years ago, while training for the annual cycling marathon, I booked a holiday home in the quiet village of Perledo. That is a house leans gently against the mountainside and faces to the most picturesque views of Lake Como. The moment I stepped onto the terrace and looked out at the pink clouds over a purple sky, mirrored by golden reflections on the lake’s surface, I knew I had just witnessed one of the most unforgettable sunsets of my life. A year later, something magical happened, my wife and I were fortunate enough to become the new owners of this romantic home, now known as Le Palm House. I’ve travelled to over 90 countries across the globe and currently divide my time between Europe and Asia. Hosting guests here is my way of sharing a little oasis of serenity with fellow travelers. Varenna is one of the three jewels of Lake Como’s famous “Golden Triangle,” alongside Bellagio and Menaggio. From Le Palm House, you can reach the heart of Varenna in just 10 minutes by car, or enjoy a scenic 30–45 minute walk downhill through olive groves and hillside paths. Once in Varenna, you can stroll along the famous Walk of Lovers, a picturesque footpath that hugs the cliffside and runs right above the water. The town is full of authentic Italian restaurants, charming piazzas, and local wine bars. A must-visit is the Villa Monastero and its elegant botanical gardens, overlooking the eastern shore of Lake Como. From Varenna’s ferry port, you can cross the lake to Bellagio or Menaggio, making it the perfect base for exploring all corners of the lake. While much of the Lake Como region relies on cars, Varenna is the only Golden Triangle town with its own train station, offering direct connections to Milan’s city center in just 1 hour. Up above the lakeshore, Perledo is a quiet hillside village beloved by hikers and cyclists. The trails and winding roads offer stunning lake views and a true sense of peace.
