Batonship Inn Osaka, in other words BIO are 5 accommodation lodgings of a renovated wooden houses operated by Batonship LLC. BIO is a part of a complex called “Kita no Kitanagaya” has realized a new method for reusing old wooden houses. While keeping the old element possible, it has been carefully renovated with seismic reinforcement, heat insulation, and soundproofing. Please find your favorite room among the five different interior designed BIOs and make it your base for your nice trip. BIO_005 is the newest, smallest and boldest of the five BIOs to date. The shared garden is filled with greenery, making you forget you're in the city, and there are sun-drenched staircases, paintings by young artists, and plenty of potted plants and botanical art. You're sure to have an unparalleled lodging experience.
Hello! My name is ONO, Tatsuya. I fell in love with old Japanese buildings when I was a university student in Kyoto. I have now rescued old buildings in Osaka and started operating accommodation. I founded a small company called Batonship LLC to build a bridge between old buildings and the next generation. My business is a small activity, but this is my life's work and I am proud of it. I also started a family. There are three people and three cats, three men and three women. “BIO” is the first renovation project I did on my own. The fifth and newest BIO_005 was built in April 2025! Nakatsu Osaka where BIO is located is next to the north of Umeda Osaka. Umeda is the one of the most famous biggest business and shopping districts in Japan but Nakatsu is a mixed town of old and new, shy, hip. With many small wooden houses, many greens, a lot of private stores and narrow alleys where cars cannot pass, in the valleys of high-rise tower apartments and office buildings. This Nakatsu's charm is now known around the world. The London-based global media outlet "Time Out" ranked Nakatsu Osaka, as the 8th coolest place in the world for 2025. If you stay at BIO, I will introduce you to that gems! Please experience the “real local Osaka” in this town not for sightseeing.
