The large kominka is perfect for friends and families traveling together, designed to be both homely but spacious with a modern twist. The most distinctive feature is the former “dirt floor” area called doma (土間 in Japanese). Traditionally the doma area of a Japanese house is used as a kitchen or a workspace where you can wear shoes. We decided to revitalize the doma area as the space it was meant to be, a spacious kitchen and dining area.
