Once a traditional village in a polder landscape, it's now best known for the beautiful Vinkeveense Plassen — a lake area shaped by its peat-digging history. Whether you want to sail, cycle, walk, eat, or stay the night, Vinkeveen has it all. Climb the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church for stunning views, cycle through the green countryside near Amsterdam, or explore the crystal-clear lake by boat, surfboard, SUP, or canoe. You can even go diving! Vinkeveen truly is a hidden gem by the water. The Vinkeveense Plassen is perfect for boating or biking. You’ll find peaceful water and green landscapes side by side. Nearby, the wide-open polder and Botshol nature reserve are waiting to be discovered. There are several scenic routes for walking, cycling, and sailing. One favorite is the path along the River Gein from Abcoude, where painter Mondrian once found inspiration. You’ll receive a personal online guide from us with all the best routes. There are plenty of great restaurants in both Vinkeveen and nearby Abcoude. For shopping and dining, Vinkeveen is just a short drive away. The marina is also ideally located near the A2 motorway, giving you quick access to the entire Randstad. You can be in Amsterdam in 15 minutes and Utrecht in 20.
