We have tried to create a relaxing happy place where people wish to return to. I remember fondly holidays in a simple 'bach' at Cable Bay in my childhood at this very beach and our dream is to create an experience you will not forget - a slice of kiwiana that is largely gone - but not forgotten!

Cable Bay Stays - Golden Sand Beachfront Accommodation is located on the more private end of Cable Bay - the best kept secret of the Far North of New Zealand! The sand is pinkish with many shells, the swimming is safe and it is where many happy beach memories are made. We want you to take a trip back in time to experience this magical kiwi place. We have only four accommodation villas. Two 2 bedroom apartments for families and groups; and 2 honeymoon suites for couples. Each apartment or suite is self catering and self contained with modern facilities but with cute 1960s retro feel modern tiled bathroom, kitchen or kitchenette. Cable Bay is a small exclusive beach in a string of amazing beaches on the calm East Coast of Northland. We believe the Far North has the best beaches of NZ - but we may be biased. There are four parts to Cable Bay: the main beach in front of the best ice cream shop in NZ where the surf is great for swimming; little Cable Bay, a horseshoe bay with rocks on either end with smaller regular waves; the secluded rock pool area in front of the apartments, with fewer waves, great for a dip & for babies and children to explore or fisherman to try their luck from; and finally the high tide "lagoon" where it is shallow for a long way out for the less confident swimmers to run and play in the surf. Everywhere there is soft sand to sculpt into castles and mermaids, & beach to stroll along and comb for shells. A magical place you must visit.
