Lakeview Cottage is an interlocking, all timber building that has an appeal of its own to many people. It is situated on the east bank of the Tekapo River, and has a great view of Lake Tekapo and the mountains that surround it. There are two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, laundry facilities and a large lounge/dining area that looks out at the lake view. A new flat screen TV connected to Sky TV was recently installed with the Sky sport option. The house is only minutes walk to the township restaurants and shops, and also the Church of the Good Shepherd. Being in the older part of the township, it is also quiet and away from the new construction areas. We are aiming to incorporate a hunting, fishing and outdoor feel to the refurbishment that has started, and will be ongoing over the next few years. We hope the guests will like and enjoy, the homely atmosphere of this warm and inviting lake cottage.

Peter & I have been married since 1978 and have 4 grown up children who have all left the nest to pursue their own path in life. We are also currently blessed with nine beautiful grandchildren, who live in Canada, France and locally here in Fairlie. Were from a farming background but decided upon a change of lifestyle and shifted to Tekapo in 2004. We started Marie Therese B&B in 2007 in our then current home. Because of popularity and demand we purchased Mapleview Cottage in 2016, and in 2018 we purchased 8 Murray Place from our friends and neighbours. A great property, close to town and with awesome potential. We named these two buildings, Lakeview Cottage and Sunset Chalet. We thoroughly enjoyed running our accommodation options until the pandemic hit in March 2020. That hit tourism hard here and we have since sold Mapleview Cottage and Marie Therese BnB and moved to Fairlie, closer to our family. We still have and rent Lakeview Cottage and Sunset Chalet, and are looking forward to the challenge of the future and meeting more people along the way.

Lake Tekapo has become a "must do" tourist destination, and as such there are some great options for visitors to stay. We think Lakeview Cottage will have a feel to it that will make guests feel happy, rested and content to stay in, as the cottage has an atmosphere that is completely different than some of the brand new options available. Lake Tekapo has the Night Sky, Hot Pools, Ice Rink, Restaurants, walking and cycle tracks and the lake itself in the summer. as the main things to do. We are also only 1 hour drive to the Mount Cook National Park where there are numerous other activities that are also "must do" choices of leisure and activity. We love to live here and will enjoy hosting you here.
