Laurella Cottage is a fully self contained New Zealand Colonial cottage, that has been meticulously restored and decorated by your hosts Dave and Sue. With a definite botanical theme running throughout the cottage, fitting for its garden location, every detail has been thought of, to make your stay in Blenheim, Marlborough one that you will not forget. The kitchen and bathroom joinery, along with the furniture have been designed and made by us on site, with the same passion and attention we’d decorate our own home. With Marlborough as the sunshine capital of NZ, we have made sure there are many secluded places around the cottage and garden for you to relax and enjoy a glass of local Marlborough wine. Your accommodation has its own private courtyard with an outdoor table setting for alfresco dining, along with the all important bbq where you might enjoy a fillet or two of our world renown Marlborough Salmon. As the garden is a important part of the cottage we have ensured that garden views are available from every room and you can enjoy watching the white fantail pigeons from the veranda and listening to the birds, a tranquil spot to relax.

We both love hosting and meeting guests from all around the world and sharing with them this garden haven, that we have created over the past 30 years, situated right in the heart of Marlborough's wine region. A place to escape and to relax in, after a busy day sightseeing or wine tasting.

Laurella Cottage is situated in a semi rural location, but a very central one. Literally within 10 minutes drive you can be in the town centre, airport, supermarkets, plus a huge array of local wineries and restaurants such as Cloudy Bay, Wither Hills and many others. The Omaka Aviation Centre is also just a 10 minute drive away. A 5 minute walk will take you to the nearest restaurant for wine tastings and lunch among the vines. A 20 minute drive will take you to the small town of Picton by the sea, where there are lots of options for trips out into the Marlborough sounds, or ferry transportation to Wellington.
