This is a modern 12year old home, with direct access to beach front and promenade. The main shopping area and restaurants are within one block of the property. Amazing sea views and sunsets directly from the house, this is truly a remarkable location which is also very quiet. Explore the town of Hokitika at your leisure because everything is within easy walking distance. Further afield the beautiful Lake Kaniere is a 20 minute drive inland. Water sports abound here and there are beautiful bush walks from 5 minutes to over 2 hours . Best access is from the western end of the lake . The Hokitika Gorge is also inland with beautiful walks and scenery and is a must see when existing Hokitika. Precision Helicopters operates a base near the Gorge parking area. Owner Matt Newton is available via their website or on site. The Southern Alps in this area is outstanding with several smaller glaciers, magnificent mountains and lovely river valleys. Many of the beaches in the area are great walking and fossicking for gemstones. Drift wood is plentiful. The small gold town of Ross is 25 km South and definitely worth a visit and explore. The Empire Hotel is a West Coast icon . Further South on your journey to the Franz and Fox glaciers you drive down a tree lined highway and pass beautiful lakes and scenery. Greymouth and Westport are further North and the scenic coastal drive is amazing. Further North is Karamea and the Western start of the Heaphy track . We suggest you allow longer travel times on The West Coast regional roads.
