Situated on the bank above the Northern Wairoa River and the Mouth of the Kaipara Harbour, the largest harbour in the southern hemisphere, this property has magnificent views up the river to Dargaville and Tutamoe in the distance. There is an additional deck on the back lawn that my children have used as a stage over the years, the steps of the deck with the spa are the grandstand. There is a large veggie garden protected from the chickens and predators by a large trawl net found on our local beach. The beach is only 10 minutes away. It is truly breathtaking on a cool frosty morning, or a stunning fine day. The spa and substantial decking and modern dining furniture give wonderful opportunities for dining and living outdoors. The deck is covered so is all weather and also shields you from the damaging summer rays. My husband, Shane is the local fishing god, and the boat is used often so he may pop in and offer you fresh fish, he also will take a few on a fishing charter into the harbour that is unequalled elsewhere in the country. This house is my home and has been for many years as you can see, I love it, please enjoy staying here, and treat it as such. We no longer have the need for such a large home but have made it nice for you and the view is truly spectacular. This is a very old section of land, one of the first 100 subdivisions in New Zealand, imagine what it must have been like overlooking the river with the sailing ships there.

I am a mother of four and grandmother of 6, family is important to me and as such we will not be selling our family home but allowing others to be guests here. I work fulltime and live 10 minutes away, we also own the house next door as a bnb so feel free to book that one also. Shane and I have been married for 39 years and there is a lot of history here of generations of our families. The beach is very close, a short walk gets you to the historic boat ramp. There is a shop in this town but it is only open during the day, there are no restaurants or takeaways, if that is what you want you need to travel to Dargaville that has plenty of options or cook in our fully serviced kitchen, with a spectacular oven and everything you may want or need.
