You're 4 mins to the nearest swimming hole! Experience a relaxed rural retreat, set back from the hubbub of touristy crowds on five acres, just a short drive from Pauanui, Tairua and Whangamata. You'll be staying in a converted shed - with high ceilings, rustic charm, and plenty of room (90sqm) you'll have all the space you need to unwind after a long day out, exploring the Peninsula. You’ll be sharing the large property with our family and our boisterous Swiss Shepherd, who takes his role as “chief greeter” very seriously. He may bark when you arrive or wander past to check who’s visiting. He’s big and boisterous, so if you’re not comfortable around dogs, this may not be the best fit. You'll be overlooking the orchard which gives you a down-to-earth feel where you'll have privacy and space and if privacy is important to you - 100% discretion assured. However, if you'd like a welcome and walk through when you get there, can do! You'll find a network of nearby walking tracks, stunning Coromandel beaches, rock climbing, and mountain biking tracks to explore. This is a great base for exploring the best of the Coromandel so if you’re after a relaxed and nature-filled escape with plenty of room to breathe then this is a warm and welcoming base to make your own.

Hi, I’m Sarah. My partner Darius, our son Caspian (10), and I live on this beautiful 5-acre block just outside Pauanui. We love the slower pace of rural life — the sound of birds in the morning, the changing seasons, and providing a beautiful space for guests to unwind. Caspian is a social butterfly, so if you have children who love to play, he’ll be a fast and loyal friend. When I’m not looking after the acre of gardens 😅 I work with women’s community groups around Aotearoa and Darius is a property developer. If you prefer absolute privacy, you’ll have plenty of it — but if you need anything, we’re around.

There isn't much of a neighbourhood unless you count the chickens... But, we're just a few minutes’ drive to several stunning freshwater swimming holes where you can jump off the riverbanks or huge mountain rocks on hot days. Pauanui Beach is just down the road, as are miles of scenic walking and biking trails. There are also great spots to launch kayaks or paddle-boards if you bring your own. For day trips, Pauanui (14 mins) Tairua (15 mins), Cathedral Cove (45 mins), Hot Water Beach (35 mins) and Whangamatā (17 mins) are all within easy reach — making this an ideal base for exploring some of the Coromandel’s most-loved destinations. Despite its peaceful alley outlook you've got cafes, a supermarket, and the beach town buzz 15 minutes drive with a quiet orchard calm when you don’t.
