Located 2 minutes off SH1 & just 5 min South of Taihape on our working sheep & beef farm. Rawhiti Farm Cottage is a unique and cosy 2 bedroom “house”. The perfect spot for an overnight stop or a holiday in the countryside Features: - free WiFi - Access to the Hautapu river (Rangitikei river also near by) - Farm walks - 60 mins to Mt Ruapehu for skiing or hiking - Fire pit for toasting marshmallows - Lots of wildlife & farm animals to see The Rawhiti farm cottage was originally the old Taihape Gunclub, which has been renovated into unique and cosy accommodation. The old clay pigeon traps and scoreboards are still an interesting feature of the property. There are 2 bedrooms, one Queen room and the other with 2 single beds. The living space is open plan with a sofa bed that pulls out to a double bed to accommodate extra guests. If you are travelling with an infant we do have a portacot available to use, just let know in advance. There is a large covered outdoor area at the front of the property, with outdoor table and chairs, a bbq and a dart board. And at the rear of the property is a small deck and fire pit area where you can enjoy the sunset.

Hannah and Marcus live and farm here in Taihape with their 2 daughters. Hannah is originally from England, she has lived in NZ since 2011. Always been passionate about travel and visited country’s all over the world including most of Europe, Canada and the USA, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia. Marcus, originally from Taihape, has also travelled and worked on farms in UK, Canada and Australia. We love welcoming guests to stay at our farm cottage,

The cottage is a 7 minute drive from Taihape where there are some great cafes and shops. We are also 1 hr to the Turoa ski field on Mt Ruapehu. The Mountain also offers walks/hikes for all levels of ability all year round. We are close to the Rangitikei river and have access to the Hautapu River on our farm. You can go for a hike on our farm, for views of Taihape, the mountains and the ranges. River valley lodge, and Tarata fishing lodge both have adventure options including fishing, rafting, horse trekking and Ebiking. Mangaweka (10 mins away) also offers Awastone for rafting trips and live music in their bar/restaurant on Sundays during the summer, and Dukes Road House cafe - one of our favourites! Taihape Golf Club is 15mins north and Rangatira Golf club 25mins south White cliff boulders is a popular attraction a short drive away
