This is a free-standing cottage set in the countryside and is very quiet, with the main sound being the native birds. It has stunning views of the Hen and Chicken Islands and has beautiful sunsets in the morning. Ruakaka Village has a well-stocked supermarket; a few specialty shops and you can find a good meal at the Ruakaka Tavern. For more choice go to Waipu village which is only 15 minutes' drive from the property and go to my favorite which is McLeod's Pizza Barn & Brewery, it closes at 9 pm or the Waipu Eatery Indian Cuisine which closes at 9.30 pm, normally pretty busy with a lot of locals.

Set just 4 km off state highway 1 up in the hills, this quiet unique free-standing cottage is the perfect get-away. Ruakaka beach is 6-7 minutes' drive and Whangarei is 25 minutes to the North and Waipu just 15 minutes' drive away, you have so much to do. Have a wander through the large garden area out front. There is one bedroom with a queen-sized bed and there is a very comfortable fold out bed in the dining kitchen area also if required for extra guests. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, Air Fryer, Rice cooker and hot plate, with pot and pans for cooking. I also have some cooking basics also, Rice, Flour, Oats, Cooking oil etc,If you are staying for 3 days or more there is a washing machine / drier available (please ask if you require this). There is wi-fi available and excellent Cell phone coverage also. Feel free to wander around the property and take a walk along the (hardly any traffic) road, there are beautiful views everywhere, and it's worth a visit to Wilsons Dam, which supplies Whangarei with water. I have two Sea Kayaks and life jackets available to use, but you will need a way to transport them or ask me and if I am around, I can help with this. Feel free to ask if you need anything at all.
