Immerse yourself in nature, stop, relax and stay awhile. Supplejack Gardens cottage is a self contained house you can retreat to on your own or with friends. Privately nestled in a park like setting of 10 acres, you can enjoy all the abundance this special property has to offer. (Total property is 27.5 acres consisting mostly of hop gardens) At the property you can explore the original parcel of bush containing Totara, Matai, Rimu, Kahikatea and Kanuka - see how our new plantings and on going restoration of the waterways will ensure the survival of this precious resource. Or stroll around our organic edible gardens which consist of vegetables, herbs and fruit trees. An orchard of apples, pears, peaches, plums and cherries plus groves of hazelnuts, olives, prunes, citrus and grapes. We have free ranging chickens, two small ponies, a family dog and cat. Ducks, quail, pheasants, tui and all manner of bird life all reside here to create a place of peace and tranquility. The Moutere River flows through the property and is accessed through a hop garden. Note: There are open ponds and waterways that are not fenced and therefore not suitable for toddlers.

We are a new hosting family of 3 (our daughter Emilia is 8 yrs old) Our philosophy is to try to have less impact on our precious planet, We grow as much of our own food as we can and are aiming for future self sufficiency. We farm organically and try where possible to recycle and reuse without compromising on luxury. Ensuring that your stay is everything that you expect it to be, we are happy to leave you in peace to retreat or we can show you around the place and help you get the most out of your stay. The historic village of Sarau (now Upper Moutere) is 700 metres away. Stroll or bike into the village for coffee, fresh baking, jams and preserves from The Old Post Office and Gallery. Get supplies from the general store and bakery or visit 'The Oldest Pub in NZ' boasting an awe inspiring selection of craft beer and whisky with superb dining for both lunch and dinner. The Katie Gold and Owen Bartlett Clay Gallery is a must visit. Tasteology is just around the corner where you can enjoy wine tastings and lunch platters.
