The Whaler’s House is located in the Calheta de Nesquim parish, in the Lajes do Pico council. This small and picturesque community has only 342 inhabitants, who live mainly from fishing and agriculture. It is in this privileged environment, where the countryside meets the sea, that the Whaler’s House is situated. The comfortable and welcoming exterior area makes it the ideal place for those who love being near the sea. This parish was the first whaling centre in the Pico Island. It is still possible to visit the boats and the look-out post today. In this parish you can find some natural swimming holes: Poça das Mujas and Feteira de Baixo.
