Cecília was the first host in the village, and her journey into hospitality began almost by accident when a surfer, drawn by the beauty of the waves, ended his day in need of a place to stay. That unexpected encounter was the beginning of what became a lifelong passion for hosting.
Today, Cecília’s House remains surrounded by flowers and open views of the sea. This natural and peaceful environment can be your home too, with Cecília herself as your caring and always-available host.
Her son, Hélder, takes care of reservations and guest communication before your arrival, ensuring everything is ready for your stay in this special corner of Madeira. Once you’re here, you’ll be welcomed and looked after by Cecília and Maura, whose warm hospitality has made guests feel at home for decades.

Cecilia’s House is a family-run guest house located in the timeless village of Jardim do Mar (Garden on the Sea). Established in 1995, it was the very first guest accommodation in the area. Originally our family home, lovingly transformed into a welcoming space for travelers. The guest house is made up of two charming houses, each with its own unique character. Nestled in a quiet corner of the village, they are surrounded by gardens and offer beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and the natural beauty of the coast.
While the buildings carry a lot of history and charm, please note that they were built many years ago. This is not a luxury hotel, but rather a simple, authentic, and much-loved home.

The common areas at Cecilia’s House are shared between guests and the host. The property features a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy living room exclusively for guests to use. Outside, the balcony is perfect for meals, relaxing, and enjoying the stunning views, while the magical garden, surrounded by flowers and the sea.
Parking:
Our house is about a 5-minute walk from the center of Jardim do Mar. Free parking is available in the village center just follow the “Cecilia’s House” signs to reach our peaceful spot by the sea. If the main parking is full, you can try the one-way road to Portinho on the left, just before the main lot, where there are usually free spots. Another option is the parking under the roundabout just after the tunnel. These are a bit farther but good alternatives.
