From the back balcony, you can watch and listen to the aqua waves crash upon the rocks; a very soul-soothing sound. You can also see the Island of Sao Jorge to the right and observe beautiful sunsets over the Island of Faial to the left, The views from this guest home must be seen to be believed! This property is also in an environment-protected location to preserve the Old World charm. This home is within walking distance to the original Cais do Mourato summertime oceanside community which features access to the ocean, a small snack bar, a restaurant called "Stones" and picnic tables. Free parking and a public restroom are also located in this area by the sea. At night, nothing is better than sitting on the balcony with your favorite beverage and looking upward to see the constellations on a clear night and maybe even catch a glimpse of a shooting star!

The da Rosa family has a long history on the Island of Pico and our main host, Michael Da Rosa, is well-versed in all the activities and attractions available on this beautiful island. He was born in the USA but moved to Pico with his parents who were born there when he was in grade school so he is fluent in both English and Portuguese. Michael is a "Jack of All Trades," but in his spare time he enjoys outdoor activities; fishing and diving among them. Mostly, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two young children, their horses and other assorted pets!

By car, this vacation home is located less than 10 minutes from Pico Airport and about 10 minutes from the main Town of Madalena where you can enjoy shops, restaurants & cafes. Madalena is also the place to catch the ferry for a 25-minutes boat ride to Faial. Diving and whale-watching can be arranged through CW Azores which is also located downtown. For those who enjoy a great wine-tasting experience, this property is less than 5 minutes from Azores Wine Company which also boasts beautiful views of their vineyards and the ocean from their tasting tables & restaurant.
