Vila Nova de Milfontes, located on the breathtaking Alentejo Coast, is a picturesque seaside village that enchants visitors with its unique combination of river, sea and nature. Part of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park, Milfontes offers unspoilt natural landscapes, golden sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters. Its main natural attractions include the mouth of the River Mira (considered the cleanest river in Europe), the beaches facing the river and the sea and the rock cliffs along the coast. The town also has a welcoming historic centre, with narrow streets, white houses and a variety of restaurants where you can sample the local cuisine - especially the fresh fish and seafood. The São Clemente Fort, overlooking the river, is one of the most emblematic landmarks. Milfontes is an ideal destination for those seeking tranquillity, natural beauty and an authentic atmosphere.

The villa is located in a central area which will allow you to walk to the beach, the historic area, shops and restaurants. If you want to spend all your time in VN Milfontes, you won't need to take your car any more. The beaches facing the river Mira (sheltered from the prevailing NW wind) are about 800m away on foot and the beaches facing the sea are about 1200m away. The beaches facing the river are under surveillance during the bathing season and have various support structures where you can rent equipment and hire instructors for various sports and leisure activities such as swimming, canoeing, rowing, boat trips, pedal boats, stand up paddle, wingfoil, e-foil, among others. There are also several restaurants here with a wide range of cuisine, on the sand or with a sea view, either in the river area or in the area facing the sea. Walking along the coast, from the riverside area to the beaches further north, is something not to be missed, especially during low tide. BEWARE of currents throughout this area, particularly during the ebb tide (when the river flows into the sea). The old town, where you'll find a very picturesque atmosphere with lots of bars and restaurants and a lively nightlife, is only 500m away on foot. Finally, the main avenue is right behind the villa, just turn the corner and you'll find supermarkets, local stores, banks, restaurants, bakeries, pastry stores, hairdressers, surf stores, a pharmacy and more.
