Quinta do Eco nestles in its own valley in the centre of Portugal. We are a small boutique guest house with two large en-suite family rooms which can accommodate two adults and two children under the age of 18. With no near neighbours it feels like living in a private Nature Reserve, falling asleep and waking up to the singing of the frogs and the chorus of the birds. With minimal light pollution the sky at night is a canopy of brilliant stars. We have a large( 18 meter) saltwater pool for you to enjoy and a dining room where we offer breakfast and dinner if desired. There is also a private terrace for our guests with outdoor seating. However we are only a 3 min drive from the hamlet of São João do Peso with its two traditional Portuguese cafes and large beautiful church, a 6 min drive from the village of Cardigos with its 2 Portuguese supermarkets and a number of restaurants, cafes and bars as well as its famous river beach ,and equidistant from the towns of Sertá and Vila de Rei which is the geodesic centre of Portugal. This is a water-rich area with many spectacular waterfalls to discover, nature walks and river beaches, not forgetting the water sports and swimming at the river Zezere- a 20 min drive away. Our closest river beach is the unspoilt beauty of Pego das Cancelas, with its funky beach bar and live music on Saturday nights. We are 35 minutes away from the Templar city of Tomar, an hour from the beautiful University city of Coimbra and an hour and a half from Lisbon and Porto.

Between us we love cooking, baking, eating, reading, music, yoga , meditation, cycling, walking, gardening, swimming and sunbathing. We have been in customer service for 30 years and look forward to sharing our paradise with you.
