Beautiful spacious apartment in rural and peaceful surroundings in the municipality of Macao, but 30 km from the town of Macao. Because we are in very rural surroundings a car or other means of transport is advisable as there is no public transport near to the apartment. The apartment has one double bed and one single bed in the first bedroom and one double sofabed and 1 single bed in the lounge/ bedroom 2, where there is also a TV with apps. There's a great little kitchenette, dining room, a stunning bathroom with free standing bath, sunny balcony with access to a lovely garden with a fantastic pool and sun loungers, BBQ and outside dining area. We have a large area of land including a very small forested area and a large flat grassy area which you are free to use for walks or games. We also have a vegetable plot and orange and lemon trees, if you would like any freshly picked produce let us know and we will be happy to pick you a selection of anything we have in season. During the summer months (Jun -Sep) we host pizza nights for guests and locals once a week. We cook home made pizzas in our bread oven and provide wine and soft drinks in our pretty outdoor area and ask that you give us however much you think your meal was worth . We hope you will come and join us! Unfortunately our apartment is not suitable for wheelchairs or people with limited mobility due to the entrance by stairs. We do not have a cot/crib or child safety catches on kitchen cupboards in the apartment. Younger children should always be accompanied by an adult on the stairs, balcony and pool area.

Central Portugal has so much to offer away from the overly touristic coast and large cities. if you enjoy mountains, lakes and the outdoors then this is the place for you. Charming schist villages, olive groves, small vineyards and some of the friendliest people in the world are all waiting for your visit. Our nearest town is Cardigos, which has 2 small grocery stores, cafes and 2 good restaurants. There are also numerous river beaches within a 10-15 minute drive, including Cardigos and Pego Das Cancelas which all have dedicated bars, toilets, barbeques and picnic areas. Plus lots of opportunity for hiking and leisurely walks around the beautiful, unspoilt countryside. We are nearby the Zezere and other rivers which are perfect for fishing and watersports or just packing up a picnic and heading out for the day.
